Apply For Housing Aid In NJ-34 At Assemblywoman Morales’ Office
Belleville, Bloomfield, East Orange, Glen Ridge, Nutley and Orange residents can get help applying to the State Rental Assistance Program.
BELLEVILLE, NJ — A state assemblywoman who represents several towns in Essex County will be helping local residents to apply for the 2025 State Rental Assistance Program (SRAP) at her office in Belleville.
Carmen Morales (NJ-34) represents Belleville, Bloomfield, East Orange, Glen Ridge, Nutley and Orange in the state Legislature.
The assemblywoman’s office at 152 Franklin Street in Belleville will be extending its office hours on five upcoming dates to help residents of the above towns to file their SRAP applications. - Wednesday, January 22: 4 to 8 pm
- Friday, January 24: 4 to 8 pm
- Saturday, January 25: 9 am to noon
- Tuesday, January 28: 4 to 8 pm
- Thursday, January 30: 4 to 8 pm
The State Rental Assistance Program (SRAP) provides housing subsidies to very low-income New Jersey residents so they can afford “decent, safe and sanitary housing.” Applications open Jan. 13 and close Jan. 30. Learn more here.
Applicants must meet certain income limits based on household size and county of residence (see the full list here). Final recipients are chosen through a lottery drawing.
In Essex County, the income limits are:
- 1 person – $36,525
- 2 people – $41,725
- 3 people – $46,925
- 4 people – $52,125
- 5 people – $56,325
- 6 people – $60,500
- 7 people – $64,650
- 8 people – $69,360
