NUTLEY, NJ — Bags containing several decapitated birds were recently found in Nutley, where they were apparently dumped during the night, authorities said.
According to the Nutley Police Department, officers responded to Erie Place on Jan. 25, finding two shopping bags with a total of seven birds. The deceased animals included two pigeons with black and grey feathers, and five chickens with brown feathers.
“The area was dark, and it appeared as if the bags were dumped during the night,” Nutley police stated in a release.
