Belleville Bank Robbery On Bloomfield Avenue: Police Release Details

Belleville, NJ – Belleville police have released details about a bank robbery that took place at the Valley National Bank on Bloomfield Avenue earlier this month.
According to the Belleville Police Department, officers received a report of a robbery in progress involving two males around noon on April 2.
The victim told police that after the two men entered the bank, one of the men gave her a note with instructions to give him $15,000 to $20,000.

When the victim told the man that she only had $1,000, he allegedly nodded his head, took the money and fled the scene, police stated.
A witness told police that the two men then ran east on Bloomfield Avenue.

Police described the first suspect as a Caucasian male with a white mustache and a tall, slim build, wearing a white Nets jersey with the number “32” on the back and a black baseball cap.
Police described the second suspect as an African-American male with a slim build, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a white scarf that covered his head.
