Belleville, Bloomfield Cops Arrest Alleged Laptop Thief In 7-Eleven
Belleville and Bloomfield police arrested a man suspected of stealing two laptop computers from a Patton Drive apartment.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — Bloomfield and Belleville police arrested a man suspected of stealing two laptop computers from a Patton Drive apartment earlier this month, authorities say.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to a reported burglary at a Patton Drive residence around 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 9. On arrival, officers spoke with the female victim who told them that she found the man inside her apartment.
The resident told officers that the suspect took two laptop computers and fled on foot towards Belleville.

A Bloomfield officer and a Belleville police unit later found the suspect, Darrin Brookins, at the 7-Eleven store on Mill Street, authorities said.
Officers found Brookins in possession of a backpack containing the two allegedly stolen laptops, authorities stated.

Police charged Brookins with Burglary, Theft and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His bail was set at $50,000 dollars with no 10 percent option.
