Belleville Business Burglarized, Police Make Arrest

Belleville police arrested a Passaic man suspected of burglarizing a Washington Avenue business.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — Belleville police have arrested a Passaic man suspected of burglarizing a Washington Avenue business earlier this month, authorities say.

According to the Belleville Police Department, the victim told officers that he left his store around 11 a.m. to run some errands. When he returned around 3 p.m., he found that the rear door of the business was open.

The victim said that stolen items included $250 in cash, an Acer laptop computer, a Samsung Galaxy phone and a tablet computer.

Equipped with a description of the subject, Belleville detectives arrested a suspect in the burglary, John Bimbo, 41, of Passaic. Authorities charged Bimbo with burglary, possession of a hypodermic needle, criminal mischief and theft.
