Belleville Cops Arrest Accused Package Thief After Video Release

Belleville police arrested a package theft suspect who was allegedly captured on video, authorities announced.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — Belleville police arrested a package theft suspect who was allegedly captured on video, authorities announced last week.

According to the Bellville Police Department, a man was seen on surveillance video stealing a package from a Union Avenue home on the morning of Nov. 4. Police said they were searching for a Honda Civic as well as the suspect, and shared footage taken at the scene.

Two days later, Belleville police announced that officers arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the theft.

Belleville police thanked their Kearny counterparts for assisting, as well as residents who voluntarily provided the video that led to the Nov. 6 arrest.
