Belleville Cops Arrest Nutley Man For Allegedly Shooting Up In His Truck

Belleville police said they found the Essex County man with a needle sticking out of his arm.

Belleville police arrested a Nutley man for drug offenses on Thursday morning after reportedly finding him slumped over in his pickup truck with a USB cord wrapped around his arm and a hypodermic needle sticking out of his flesh.

According to police, officers on patrol on Union Avenue around 2:21 a.m. noticed Robert Hart, 45, “slumped over the steering wheel of a parked pickup.”

Walking up to check on Hart’s condition, the officers allegedly saw a black USB cord wrapped around his arm and a hypodermic needle protruding from his skin, police stated.

Officers also allegedly observed “numerous” wax folds, clear plastic bags containing a white rock substance and “numerous” pills.

Police arrested Hart and charged him with possession of heroin, cocaine, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia.

Hart also had an open warrant with the Essex County Sheriff’s Office, Belleville police stated.
