Belleville Cops Evacuate Cortland Street Building After Bomb Threat: Situation Cleared

A bomb threat on Cortland Street in Belleville was cleared without further incident, police say.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — A bomb threat on Cortland Street in Belleville was cleared without further incident earlier this month, police say.

According to the Belleville Police Department, an employee at a Cortland Street business received a phone call from a male around 6 p.m. on Aug. 3, telling her to “get everyone out of the building… there is a bomb.”

On arrival at the scene, Belleville police officers evacuated the building and checked the interior with a K9 unit, but found the building to be clear after further investigation.
