Belleville Cops Find 100 Heroin Folds During Traffic Stop
Belleville police arrested a 34-year-old Totowa woman after allegedly finding her with 100 folds of heroin during a traffic stop.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — Belleville police arrested a 34-year-old Totowa woman after allegedly finding her in possession of 100 folds of heroin during a traffic stop earlier this month, authorities say.
According to the Belleville Police Department, officers allegedly observed a motor vehicle traveling at a slow rate of speed and failing to stay in the marked lanes on Route 21 South at 9:45 p.m. on Oct. 10.
When the officers stopped the vehicle and began to speak to the driver, Traci McDermott, 34, of Totowa, they allegedly observed a clear bag on the passenger seat containing several wax folds with suspected heroin.

According to police, when the officers ordered the driver to exit the car, McDermott allegedly grabbed the bag and tried to hide it under her shirt. After a brief struggle, the officers placed her under arrest and took her into custody.
The recovered bag contained 100 wax folds of heroin, police said.

Authorities charged McDermott with possession of CDS and possession of CDS with intent to distribute. She was also issued three motor vehicle summonses.
