BELLEVILLE, NJ — Belleville police charged a Newark man with selling narcotics within 1,000 feet of a school after finding 100 folds of heroin in his car during a traffic stop last week, authorities say.

According to the Belleville Police Department, officers saw a car traveling on the wrong side of North 7th Street around 8:42 p.m. on Oct. 10. When officers pulled over the driver and approached the vehicle, they allegedly saw him try to hide an object inside his pants.

Belleville police then removed the driver, Ibn Brown, 37, of Newark, and patted him down “for officer safety,” finding two “bricks” - or 100 wax folds - of heroin, authorities said.
