Belleville Cops Make Crack Arrest Near Clara Maass; Found Man ‘Driving In Circles’

Belleville police officers arrested a Newark man in possession of 74 vials of crack-cocaine near the Clara Maass Medical Center.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — Belleville police officers arrested a Newark man in possession of 74 vials of crack-cocaine earlier this month after allegedly spotting him driving a black BMW in circles on streets near the Clara Maass Medical Center, authorities say.

According to the Belleville Police Department, officers conducting surveillance in the area of Franklin Avenue and Clara Maass Drive around 3:43 p.m. on May 16 allegedly saw a black BMW driving in circles around the area.

Police said the vehicle passed their patrol car six times, during which they noticed the car had a broken taillight and the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

After conducting a traffic stop, the officers found a plastic bag in the console containing 74 glass vials of crack-cocaine.

Police arrested the driver, Kwadene Livingston, 45, of Newark, and charged him with possession of CDS.
