Belleville Cops Searching For Alleged Robber With Bloodshot Eyes

A man with bloodshot eyes allegedly robbed a delivery worker on Union Avenue, Belleville police say.

Belleville police are searching for a man suspected of robbing a delivery worker on Sept. 29.

According to police, the male victim reported that the incident took place around 8:32 p.m. as he was making a delivery on Union Avenue.

According to the victim, a man approached him and told him “Give me your money… I have a gun,” and reached toward his hip.

The suspect then told the delivery worker, “Give me your money or I’m going to hurt you,” and reportedly threatened to hit him.

At that time the worker gave the suspect about $100 in cash, and he fled east on Joralemon Street.

The victim described his assailant as a white male, about 5 feet 10 inches, 140 pounds, with brown hair and bloodshot eyes, and wearing a gray t-shirt, shorts and a black backpack.

An investigation is ongoing, police stated.
