Belleville Cops: Stop Saving Parking Spaces Or Face Fines

Belleville, NJ - Are you saving parking spaces in Belleville because of the snow?
Cut it out or face a fine, police say.
On Thursday, the Belleville Police Department issued the following warning:

“Please be advised that all cars must be cleaned of snow and moved on the streets every forty-eight hours in accordance with state law or they will be subject to ticketing and or towing. Also note that it is unlawful to reserve a public parking space on a township road by placing objects, such as garbage cans, furniture, boxes, lumber, traffic cones, or any other item in the parking space. Please be advised that all township streets parking spaces are available to anyone who wants to park. We are advising that you remove objects placed in township streets parking spaces immediately or they will be subject to removal and disposal by the township. Anyone observed placing objects in parking spaces will be in violation of township ordinance 11-1.2 Obstructions and Encumbrances in Streets which can result in fines up to $2,000 dollars.”
