Belleville Council Paves Way For ‘Redevelopment’ On Belmont Ave
The measure paves the way for increasing residential development at a Belmont Avenue property in Belleville, a report says.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — During the first Belleville Town Council meeting of 2018 on Tuesday, council members approved an ordinance that declares a 9.5-acre property at 81-179 Belmont Avenue as an “area in need of redevelopment.”
The measure paves the way for increasing residential development at the property, and was met with objections from several Belleville residents, NorthJersey.com reported. (Read the full article here)
No payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) has been approved for the property’s developer, BOIV Belleville MCB LLC, but Township Manager Mauro Tucci has previously said that an agreement may be a possibility, the report stated.
