Belleville Junior Police Academy Returns For 2023

BELLEVILLE, NJ — The Belleville Police Department is bringing back its annual Junior Police Academy for 2023.

The academy will take place the week of June 26 to June 30. It is open to youth currently in 6th and 7th grade who are Belleville residents. Objectives include:

• Provide the attending student with an overview of the criminal justice field and its components
• Have special guests and specialized police units share their expertise and knowledge
• Develop the concept of teamwork, self-confidence, and enhanced communication skills in the attendee
• Conduct both classroom and hands-on training, crime scene analysis, first aid, and physical training

According to a municipal news release:

“Class size and graduation may be subject to limitations based upon building code restrictions. Applications should be returned promptly and will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.”
