Belleville Man Fatally Shot While Working At Newark Grocery Store: PD
A 46-year-old Belleville resident was killed in a shooting that took place at a corner grocery store in Newark, prosecutors said.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A 46-year-old Belleville resident was killed in a shooting that took place at a corner grocery store in Newark on Sunday, prosecutors said.
Rabel Ramos-Gomez, 46, of Belleville, was fatally shot while working in his corner grocery store on the 200-block of South 10th Street in Newark, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Ramos-Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:15 p.m., authorities said.

No arrests have been made as of Monday, authorities said.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the shooting. Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
