BELLEVILLE, NJ — A police training exercise is scheduled to take place at the Belleville municipal building on Tuesday, authorities said.
Belleville town officials released the following news advisory about the exercise:
“The offices in the township’s municipal building will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019 from 9 a.m. to noon while police conduct training exercises. Residents should be aware that police, fire and EMT vehicles parked Tuesday morning in front of the municipal building will be a part of the drill. A portion of Washington Avenue will also be closed during the training exercises. Washington Avenue will be closed between Belleville and Rutgers streets starting at about 10 a.m. Municipal employees will be on hand outside the municipal building to take the names and phone numbers of residents who come to the building for various services only to find it closed. Those residents will be contacted as soon as the training exercises are concluded.”
There will be no interruption to police, fire or EMT emergency services during the training exercises, officials said.
