Belleville Police Issue Flood Warning Due To Hurricane Joaquin
Residents of Fairway Avenue, 725 Joralemon Street and other low lying areas in Belleville should prepare for flooding, police say.

The Belleville Police Department sent an advisory on Friday morning, warning residents of Fairway Avenue, 725 Joralemon Street, and other low lying areas prone to flooding to be prepared to seek higher ground due to Hurricane Joaquin.

Belleville police stated:
“Please be advised that the Township of Belleville is advising residents of Fairway Avenue, 725 Joralemon Street, and other low lying areas prone to flooding to be prepared to seek higher ground due to the current Nor’easter we are experiencing, and possible rain and storm surge from hurricane Joaquin which path no longer includes the U.S. east coast.”

Police continued:
“This storm may cause excessive flooding of low lying areas. We are also advising residents to move vehicles to higher grounds; residents may park on school property on the weekend, and Monday to Friday after the school day ends at 4 p.m., and must move their vehicles prior to 7 a.m. Do not drive your vehicle in areas where the water covers the roadway.”
