Belleville Police Plan 'Walk Kids To School' Day, Parents Welcome

BELLEVILLE, NJ — The Belleville Police Department will hold a “Walk To School Day” on Thursday, Oct. 18 and Friday, Oct. 19.

During the two-day event, Belleville officers will be walking to school with local children. Officers will be at several locations beginning at 8 a.m.; the walk will begin at 8:15 a.m. Parents and guardians are welcome to join, police said.

Interested parents/guardians should note the following dates for their child’s school:

• Oct.18 - Schools #4,8,9,10
• Oct. 19 - Schools #3,5,7

• #4 School - Superfresh Supermarket at 115 Belmont Ave, Naples Street/Newark Ave
• # 8 School - 94 Bridge Street; Columbus Ave/ Maier Street; Holmes Street/ Hornblower Ave
• #9 School - K-Mart Parking Lot
• #10 School - Belleville Senior Building 125 Franklin Ave; Belleville Ave/ Smallwood Ave; Continental Ave/ Carpenter Street

Friday October 19 (Schools #3, #5, #7)

• School #3 - Rossmore St/ Hornblower Ave; Linden Ave/ Division Ave; Mertz Ave/ Division Ave; Joralemon St/ Reservoir Place
• School # 5 - Veterans Monument 482 Union Ave; Greylock Parkway/ Bremond Street; Belmohr Street/ Tiona Ave; Elmwood Ave/ Union Ave
