Belleville Reschedules Fireworks Show After Storm Cancellation: See New Date
Belleville's 2026 Independence Day fireworks got rained out. Here's when the rescheduled show will take place.
BELLEVILLE, NJ — Belleville has scheduled a new date for its Independence Day fireworks.
The township initially planned to celebrate the United States’ 250th anniversary with a public fireworks show on July 3. Those plans got derailed when a severe storm hit Belleville and other towns across New Jersey over the holiday weekend.
Mayor Frank Vélez announced that a new date has been set for the fireworks show: Thursday, Aug. 27.

According to the mayor, the display will take place after the County Night Summer Concert. Fireworks will begin around 9:15 p.m. at Belleville High School, 100 Passaic Avenue.
“While severe weather prevented us from celebrating together on July 3, we’re excited to finally bring our community together for this special occasion,” Vélez said.
