Belleville Schools Getting Nearly $1 Million in Federal Funds
Money to Help At-Risk Students, Pascrell Says

U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. (D-8th) announced yesterday that an estimated $982,325 will likely be awarded to Belleville school district to help serve the education needs of children at risk.
"As a former educator, I know the greatest disservice a school can do is to forsake those students who aren't successful in the classroom," said Pascrell. "That is why the federal government is providing resources to help schools reach students who are at risk of not realizing their full potential. These dollars will help children succeed in the classroom, and help public schools achieve their mission of providing quality education to all students."
The funds to local school district are part of $14.5 billion appropriated under Public Law (PL) 111-117, the Department of Education Appropriations Act, 2010, for activities authorized by Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA).

Several area communities, including Bloomfield and Montclair, will also receive funding under the program.
