Belleville To Start Hydrant Flushing On Tuesday Night
Belleville residents may experience a drop in water pressure and water discoloration, town officials say.

The Township of Belleville has announced that it will begin the flushing of fire hydrants starting on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
According to a release, flushing will occur from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., Monday through Thursday, excluding Fridays, weekends, and holidays.
“The flushing of hydrants is an important preventative maintenance activity,” town officials stated in a release. “Residents may experience a drop in water pressure during the flushing process, and may experience a temporary discoloration of their water. This discoloration consists of primarily harmless silt and air and does not affect the safety of the water. If you experience discoloration in your water, clear the pipes by running all water faucets for a few minutes until discoloration clears.”
