Belleville Switches Town Managers; Council OKs Change Of Guard

The torch has passed from Anthony Iacono to Brian Banda in Belleville.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — The Belleville Town Council appointed a new township manager at their latest meeting, passing the torch from Anthony Iacono to Brian Banda.

The council passed resolutions on Aug. 19 to authorize a separation agreement with Iacono and appoint Banda to the job.

The council went into an executive session before announcing their votes. A discussion about the resolutions – including a round of applause for Iacono’s service to the township and questions about the decision-making process – took place afterwards (watch the video below, cued to the discussion, or view it online here).

Under the resolutions passed at the meeting, Banda will perform his current duties as a planning aide for the township while serving as town manager at the lowest step of the municipal salary guide.
