The chapter is asking that the Belleville Township Mayor, Council and the citizens support and promote this project to honor those that provide law enforcement, property protection, safety, security, while instilling order and creating stability in our community.

This year UNICO’s Belleville Chapter is proud to honor the following Belleville law enforcement professionals:

Belleville Police Chief Mark Minichini:

Chief Mark Minichini has thirty-one years of decorated law enforcement service and is a thirty-year veteran of the Belleville Police Department. He was instrumental in starting the Community Policing Unit, the School Resource Officer program, instituting numerous crime prevention initiatives, and he proudly served as PBA President for Local 28. He took the helm of the Belleville Police Department in July 2016 and immediately initiated sweeping reforms that have lowered crime dramatically, increased officer productivity, and solidified police-community relations.

Belleville Police Deputy Chief Gerard Corbo,

Deputy Chief Corbo has over twenty-five years of dedicated and decorated law enforcement service to the Township of Belleville and the Belleville Police Department.

During his time as a School Resource Officer and Community Policing Unit Commander, D/C Corbo created and implemented many community programs still in effect today, which helped to foster the relationships between the police department and the community.

Belleville PBA President Mark Johns

Officer Johns began his career in 2001 when he joined the Newark Police Department. During his tenure in Newark he was assigned to several specialty details, such as an undercover narcotic Detective and a K-9 narcotic handler. In 2006, he chose to transfer to the Belleville Police Department to continue his career. He has served the Belleville Police Department for eleven years, during which time he was assigned to the Patrol Division from 2006 to 2011. In 2011 he was assigned to the Detective Bureau.

In June 2012, he became the P.B.A. President for Belleville Police Department. In 2014 he was also chosen for the State Delegate of the Belleville Police Department. He has assumed both positions and remains dedicated to them.
