Belleville Van Broken Into, Egged: Police

Someone broke into a Belleville man's van and stole $5K of tools. And to add insult to injury, they also egged his vehicle, police say.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — A Belleville resident reported that someone broke into his work van and stole about $5,000 worth of tools last week. And to add insult to injury, the suspect also egged his vehicle, police say.

According to the Belleville Police Department, a Belleville Avenue resident told officers that someone broke into his vehicle between Nov. 8 and Nov. 12. The vehicle – a 2007 GMC Savanna van – was parked in his driveway at the time.

To make matters worse, the vehicle was covered in broken eggs, the victim told police.

Belleville police are investigating the incident, authorities said.
