Belleville Vehicle Owners Report 2 Thefts, 1 Attempted Theft: Police
Incidents took place on Franklin Avenue, William Street and Sanford Avenue, Belleville police say.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — Belleville residents recently reported two stolen cars and a stolen car attempt in the township, authorities say.
According to the Belleville Police Department, the following car thefts recently took place:
- Aug. 28 - 6:47 a.m. - Franklin Avenue – A resident stated she parked her vehicle in Clara Maass parking lot around 12:15 a.m. Upon returning to the area she discovered the vehicle, a 2014 Honda CRV, was gone.
- Aug. 27 – 7:23 a.m. – William Street – A resident stated that his wife parked her vehicle, a 2015 Kia Optima, in front of house around 3 p.m. the previous night. Upon returning to the area, she found the vehicle missing.
In addition, the following attempted theft was reported:

- Aug. 20 – 6:50 p.m. – Sanford Avenue – A resident stated he parked his 1991 Pontiac on Aug. 19 at 5 p.m. On returning around 6:50 p.m. on Aug. 20, he found the door lock punched out and the ignition damaged.
