Belleville Woman Charged With DWI After Going Wrong-Way: Police

Hoboken police charged a Belleville woman with driving while intoxicated during the Memorial Day weekend.

Hoboken police charged a Belleville woman with driving while intoxicated during the Memorial Day weekend after she allegedly traveled the wrong way down Hudson Place, authorities say.

According to the Hoboken Police Department, officers allegedly observed a red Kia traveling the wrong way on Hudson Place around 3:07 a.m. on Saturday. After conducting a traffic stop and approaching the vehicle, the officers “immediately detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage.”

The officers spoke with the driver - Alicia Nazzaro, 22, of Belleville - who later failed a field sobriety test and was placed under arrest. A breath sample taken at police headquarters found her to be above the legal limit, authorities said.
