Big Job Fair In Essex County: Healthcare, Education, Retail, Food
Ramos: "Even though the national economy is rebounding, the unemployment rate in Essex County is still among the highest in the country."

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Essex County will host its free 2018 Job Fair on Thursday, May 24. According to county officials, job seekers can meet employers from more than 150 employers and service providers from fields such as health care, higher education, banking, wireless communication, social service agencies, retail opportunities, food preparation, law enforcement, property management, hotels and tourism, sales, printing, military, and shipping/logistics.
In addition, county offices and local agencies will have information available about health screenings, job readiness skills, foreclosure and homelessness prevention at the job fair, organizers said.
The job fair is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 24 at the Essex County College Gymnasium, 303 University Avenue in Newark.

According to a county news release:
“Admission to the 2018 Essex County Job Fair is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is available on-line at www.essexcountynj.org or in person at the Essex County One-Stop Career Center located at 50 South Clinton Street, 2nd Floor, in East Orange. On-site registration is also available at the event. For more information, please call the Essex County Department of Economic Development, Training and Employment at 973-395-8415.”

“Our Job Fair is a ‘one-stop’ experience because we offer job seekers opportunities to connect with companies that have verified they will be hiring new employees as well as services to assist them in their job search,” Ramos added.
