Burglar Alarm Sounds At Nutley Home, Man Had Prybar: Police

A suspect was seen carrying a prybar during a home burglary attempt in Nutley, authorities said.

NUTLEY, NJ — A suspect was seen carrying a prybar during a home burglary attempt in Nutley last week, authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, a Grant Avenue resident contacted headquarters on Jan. 31 about an attempted burglary at their home.

The resident said their home alarm went off around 3:41 a.m. The door was found open, authorities said.

A young male carrying a prybar and wearing a light-colored sweatshirt and a light-colored face covering was seen nearby at the time. He didn’t enter the home, police said.
