Call About Stolen Mercedes Leads Cops To Burglarized Cars In Nutley
Nutley police officers came across an unexpected sight: a 2006 BMW that was stuck on a shrub with its engine running.
NUTLEY, NJ — A call about a stolen car in Nutley led police to several burglarized vehicles last week, authorities recently reported.
According to the Nutley Police Department, officers got a call from a New York resident on June 5. The resident said that her 2020 Mercedes Benz was stolen and tracked to Nutley in the area of Coeyman Avenue and Overlook Terrace.
Officers responded to the area and found several vehicles burglarized with their interior lights on. The officers continued to canvass the area and found vehicles on Alexander Avenue that had also been entered, authorities said.

Soon, the officers came across an unexpected sight: a 2006 BMW that was stuck on a shrub with its engine running.
“It appears the actors in the stolen Mercedes Benz attempted to steal a Porsche and BMW in Nutley unsuccessfully,” police said.

Later that day, Newark police notified their peers in Nutley that the woman’s 2020 Mercedes Benz was located in their city. Nutley detectives responded and processed the vehicle, authorities said.
