Car Stolen In Nutley Crashes In Bloomfield: Police
A car stolen from Nutley was found crashed in Bloomfield, police said.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A car stolen from Nutley was found crashed in Bloomfield last week, authorities announced Monday.
The Nutley Police Department released the following details about the incident, which took place on Feb. 20:
“The Bloomfield Police Department contacted headquarters advising they had a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle that was possibly stolen out of our jurisdiction. Officers contacted the registered owner who confirmed the vehicle had been stolen. Officers observed the ignition was tampered with. The surrounding area was canvassed for further information, and the detective bureau was advised.”

Feb. 15 (Mount Vernon Street) – “Officers responded on a report of a motor vehicle theft. The victim stated they parked their vehicle in their driveway the night prior and when they returned, it was missing. The victim stated they had approximately $3,000 worth of tools inside the vehicle and were still in possession of the keys. The surrounding area was canvassed for further information and the detective bureau was advised.”
Feb. 15 (Myrtle Avenue) – “A resident responded to headquarters to report an attempted motor vehicle theft. They stated a male party wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and light-colored pants exited a white sedan and entered their unlocked vehicle in an attempt to steal it prior to fleeing the scene. The victim advised that items in the vehicle had been rummaged through, but nothing was missing. The surrounding area was canvassed for further information and the detective bureau was advised.”
