Carjacking Reported In Belleville: Cortlandt Street

"Give me everything," the man allegedly ordered his victim, Belleville police say.

Belleville, NJ – A motorist reported that he was the victim of a late night carjacking on Cortlandt Street last month, authorities said.

According to the Belleville Police Department, the victim said told officers that he was sitting in his 2013 Nissan Altima around 2 a.m. on May 22, when a white male in a black ski mask allegedly approached him, pulled him out of the car and pointed a silver-colored handgun at him.

The victim told police that his assailant said “give me everything,” authorities said.

When the victim allegedly told the man that he had nothing, the suspect went through his pockets and took his car keys, then got into his Altima and fled the scene.

The vehicle was recovered in Newark at 6:30 p.m. on the same day, police said.
