Cars Damaged In Belleville And Nutley: 4 Flat Tires, ‘Keyed’

Police: A car was found with four flat tires in Belleville. Another was found "keyed" in Nutley.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Vehicle owners in Belleville and Nutley reported two separate instances of criminal mischief last week, authorities said.

Nutley police said that a “criminal mischief” incident was reported on Hillside Crescent on April 22. According to authorities:

“The victim stated that they noticed someone keyed their work vehicle on the rear passenger’s side and the rear driver’s side while it was parked, but is unsure of when the incident might have occurred. The registered owner was notified of the damage by the driver.”

On April 23, a Belleville vehicle owner on Branch Brook Drive came out to find flat tires on their car, police said.

According to police:

“The victim stated she parked her motor vehicle the night before. Upon arriving to the vehicle the following morning, she discovered all four tires flat. The tires appeared to be punctured in the side wall by an unknown object. The vehicle was a 2009 Hyundai.”

Belleville police are investigating the incident, authorities said.
