CDC Is Not Sending People Door-To-Door In Nutley: Officials

NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley police are cautioning local residents to be aware of a “safety issue” involving alleged door-to-door visits from people claiming to be from the CDC.

On Monday, the Nutley Police Department issued the following advisory:

“Nutley Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Chief Thomas Strumolo are advising residents of a safety issue – there have been social media posts regarding individuals going door to door claiming to be from the CDC. The CDC is not deploying teams of people going door to door asking questions. People should be warned to not let them in their homes or to speak with them. Anyone that solicits should have a township solicitors identification card, if they do not, contact the Nutley Police Department at 973-284-4940. The Nutley website offers a ‘Do No Knock’ registry that we provide to solicitors if you wish to be added please log in and fill out form, which can be found at https://evogov.s3.amazonaws.com/media/20/media/4071.pdf.”

According to a Monday message from the township board of commissioners and the Nutley Health Department, there are currently no COVID-19 cases in Nutley.
