Clara Maass Hospital Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A celebration was recently held at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville to mark Hispanic Heritage Month.
Hospital administrators, staff and community leaders gathered for sunshine, speeches, and traditional music and food at Clara Maass’ Hispanic Heritage Month celebration earlier this month.
Anthony Nuñez, director of the Center of Excellence for Latino Health, kicked off a round of speeches, touching on his pride in Hispanic culture and the hospital’s role in addressing the social determinants of health within the local Hispanic community.

“[Clara Maass’] Center of Excellence for Latino Health supports the local Latino community by providing and facilitating access to primary, emergency and specialty health care; inpatient and outpatient medical care; transitions of care, chronic disease management and end-of-life care; and utilizing clinical and market research to understand patient needs and improve health outcomes.”
