Cops Find Belleville Driver Clutching Hypodermic Syringe and Unconscious In Traffic

Officers successfully revived the Belleville man with a Narcan dose, authorities say.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Bloomfield police arrested a Belleville man after he was found “unresponsive” and clutching a hypodermic needle while parked in the middle of the street last week, authorities say.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers were dispatched to Williamson Avenue and Liberty Street on July 20 on a report of an unresponsive male driver. Officers arrived to find Timothy Moran, 53, of Belleville, unconscious and with a hypodermic syringe in his right hand, authorities said.

Officers administered Narcan after determining a possible overdose, which successfully revived Moran, police said.

Authorities charged Moran with driving under the influence and possession of a hypodermic syringe and issued him multiple motor vehicle summonses. His vehicle was impounded.
