UPDATE: Belleville Schools Closed; Bad Weather In Forecast
Due to forecasts of bad winter weather, all Belleville public schools will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 31, officials said.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — Due to forecasts of bad winter weather, all Belleville public schools will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 31, officials said.
District officials initially said that schools would run on a 90-minute delayed schedule. Administrators later updated the alert, saying that schools will be closed "due to the dangerously frigid temperatures and potential for dangerous roadways."
Belleville school administrators’ announcement came amid freezing-cold weather on Wednesday. A “Code Blue” alert is in effect for Essex County from Wednesday, Jan. 30 to Saturday, Feb. 2.
