Dog Bites Postal Carrier In Nutley

A dog bit a postal carrier while they were delivering mail to a home on Raymond Avenue in Nutley, authorities said.

Nutley, NJ – A dog bit a postal carrier while they were delivering mail to a home on Raymond Avenue in Nutley earlier this month, authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, the postal employee was on the front porch of the home on June 14, when a dog jumped on the front door, pushing it open and rushing onto the porch.

The dog then bit the employee on the right arm, authorities said.

The Nutley Volunteer Emergency Rescue Squad arrived on the scene shortly afterwards and checked on the employee, eventually transporting them to Clara Maass Hospital, police said.

The pet’s owner was able to supply officers with a copy of the dog’s animal health statement, which indicated that he was up to date on his vaccinations, police stated.

Police issued the animal’s owner a summons for having an unlicensed dog.
