Driver Pounds Car With Bat During ‘Road Rage’ Incident: Nutley Police

A driver struck another motorist's car with a baseball bat during a "road rage" incident in Nutley, police say.

NUTLEY, NJ — A driver struck another motorist’s car with a baseball bat during a “road rage” incident in Nutley last week, police say.

According to the Nutley Police Department, officers responded to Park Avenue on Feb. 26 after getting a report about an argument between two drivers.

“The victim stated that while driving on Park Avenue, there was a silver BMW following closely and beeping at them. While stopped at a red light, the driver of the BMW pulled up next to the victim and began cursing at them. The driver of the BMW exited the vehicle with a baseball bat and struck the victim’s car below the window of the driver’s side door and the driver’s side mirror, prior to getting back into their car and driving away.”

A police investigation continues, authorities said Friday.
