NUTLEY, NJ — She went to get a tan at a salon in Nutley. And that’s when she found a hidden camera, prosecutors say.
On Wednesday, authorities arrested the owner of the Sun of a Beach tanning salon on Franklin Avenue in Nutley, carrying out a search warrant of the business, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Nutley Police Department.
A separate business, Sálon Salon, is also located in the same building as Sun of a Beach. Sálon Salon was not implicated in or connected to Wednesday's search and arrest.

After finding evidence of “surreptitious recording devices” as well as cocaine and marijuana inside the salon, police charged Martino Poli, 38, of Stanhope, with invasion of privacy, endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Prosecutors said the investigation started when a female customer of the salon reported that she noticed what she believed to be a camera lens recording her without permission while she was in a tanning bed.
