Beginning Monday, May 23, Belleville police will be taking part in a nationwide effort to enforce seat belt laws. The annual initiative ends June 5.
This year’s campaign will also focus on back-seat seat belt usage, which is also now required by law. Compliance among adults is estimated at only 27 percent.
