False Alarm Sends Nutley Resident Scrambling Onto Roof: Cops
A Nutley resident went scrambling onto the roof of her home when her burglar alarm went off. It was likely tripped by the wind, police said.

NUTLEY, NJ — A Nutley resident seeking to escape a potential intruder climbed out on the roof of her home after her burglar alarm went off earlier this month, authorities said.
According to the Nutley Police Department, a “frantic” Wharton Avenue resident called 911 after her burglar alarm went off and began “screaming for help” on May 3. By the time officers arrived at her home, the caller had climbed out a window onto the roof, fearful that an intruder was inside, police said.
Police searched the residence and found that the tripped alarm most likely had a benign cause: a strong wind.
