1 Dead, 1 Injured After Hit-And-Run Crash In Nutley (UPDATED)
Nutley police said the crash happened near the Garden State Parkway overpass on Milton Avenue.
NUTLEY, NJ — A fatal hit-and-run crash involving two pedestrians took place in Nutley on Wednesday night, authorities said.
Nutley police said the crash happened around 7 p.m. near the Garden State Parkway overpass on Milton Avenue.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office said one of the pedestrians – later identified as Wiston Perlaza, 22, of Paterson – was taken to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:12 p.m.

A second pedestrian was hospitalized with serious-but-non-fatal injuries, prosecutors said.
A police investigation continues, prosecutors said Thursday.
