‘Frustrated’ Man Left Nails, Screws In Nutley Intersection: Cops

Police arrested a Clifton man who has been accused of leaving "camouflaged" nails and screws scattered around a busy intersection in Nutley.

NUTLEY, NJ — Police arrested a Clifton man who has allegedly been leaving “camouflaged” nails and screws scattered around a busy intersection in Nutley since August, authorities announced Friday.

According to the Nutley Police Department, there have been more than 20 instances in which either officers or residents found nails and screws at the intersection of Kingsland Street and Windsor Place.

Most were wired together so they stood upright, guaranteeing they would flatten a tire if a car ran them over, police said.

Police arrested Sanchez on Friday. He was charged with multiple counts of throwing debris from a vehicle and weapons possession.

Police also said Sanchez was in violation of a restraining order, and was “frustrated” about legal proceedings involving a Windsor Road resident, which may have been the reason for his alleged behavior.
