GOP Leader In Essex County On Frontline Of NJ Trump, MAGA Efforts

"We're turning the blue wave into a puddle," Nutley's Steve Rogers says.

NUTLEY, NJ — Here’s a sentiment that New Jersey residents need to hear more, according to one of the Garden State’s rising GOP boosters, Steve Rogers: “President Trump has been very successful.”

Rogers, a Nutley township commissioner and a leader on President Trump’s 2020 Campaign Advisory Board, is helping to spearhead the charge to re-elect the Republican president in a state that’s traditionally been viewed as a Democratic party stronghold.

Much of Rogers’ recent campaigning for Trump has come from the Essex County-based offices of the America Winning Coalition, the GOP-boosting political action group that he chairs. It’s efforts such as this that earned Rogers a recent appointment as an advisor to the New Jersey Republican State Committee for Make America Great Again (MAGA).

On Tuesday, Rogers told Patch that he intends to use his new position to lead a statewide tour advocating for Republican candidates and Trump’s MAGA agenda.

“We’re turning the ‘blue wave’ into a puddle,” the Nutley commissioner quipped.

According to Rogers, the effort to turn New Jersey red is heating up as the state’s voters turn their attention to the November elections for the U.S. House of Representatives. He tweeted on Tuesday:

“Receiving many messages this morning from citizens wanting to help @realDonaldTrump campaign and @NJGOP mid-term candidates. Please call me at 973-562-6508. We will return your call within 24 hrs. #RedStormRising #MAGA.”

The “red storm” in New Jersey appears to be indiscriminately in favor of any GOP standout, for now. When Patch asked if there are any specific candidates that Rogers and the America Winning Coalition are endorsing for Congress in November, he said that the AWC is supporting the President and “Republican candidates statewide.”

Statewide, GOP boosters can expect to see Rogers and the AWC at the Monroe Township Republican Club on July 19, as well as “towns in every New Jersey county” in the near future.

Rogers has previously stumped for Trump, fellow GOP politicians and the MAGA agenda in locations including Montclair and Perth Amboy.
