Someone fired gunshots in Belleville, with at least one bullet striking a nearby apartment, authorities said.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — Someone fired gunshots in Belleville on Monday night, with at least one bullet striking a nearby home, authorities said.

According to the Belleville Police Department, officers responded to the 100-block of Branch Brook Drive around 8:50 p.m. after getting a report about gunfire in the area. The officers found several spent shell casings in the street and sidewalk.

“At least one apartment was also struck by a projectile,” a police spokesperson noted.

No injuries were reported, authorities said.
