Help Prevent Crime In Belleville With ‘9 PM Checklist,’ Police Urge
Crime prevention doesn't have to be complicated. Here are some quick ways to help reduce your chances of experiencing a theft or burglary.
BELLEVILLE, NJ — Crime prevention doesn’t have to be complicated. This is the message from the Belleville Police Department, which is asking local residents to adopt a new “9 p.m. routine.”
“Together, we can continue to prevent motor vehicle thefts/burglaries, residential burglaries and criminal mischief activity,” the BPD stated, asking residents to set the alarms on their phones to 9 p.m. and run down a nightly checklist.
Some items on the list should include locking car doors, securing residential doors and windows, and turning on exterior lights, Belleville police said.
