Here’s How These Nutley Cops Spent Christmas: Overdose, Accident, Car Burglaries
While you were spending Christmas in front of a warm fire or opening presents, Nutley police officers were hard at work.

NUTLEY, NJ — While you were spending Christmas in front of a warm fire or opening presents, Nutley police officers spent their holiday responding to a heroin overdose, an accident on Bloomfield Avenue and vehicle burglaries.
According to the Nutley Police Department, here are some of the incidents that officers responded to on Dec. 25:
- Medical Emergency – Pershing Avenue - Police responded with medical personnel to a home in which the resident was seizing as a result of heroin use. Responders rendered first aid and transported the victim to an area hospital. CDS still on scene was confiscated by police.
- Dispute - Kingsland/Darling – Police responded to a dispute and found one of the participants left the scene prior to police arrival.
- Accident - Bloomfield Avenue - Police responded to an incident on Bloomfield Avenue in which a woman was screaming for help. It was discovered that she had run over concrete, and unable to move her vehicle. Police then observed a man running towards them, enraged, to learn that it was the woman’s son, visibly upset. It was determined that he was suffering from a medical condition and transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
- Theft from a vehicle - Carteret Place - Police responded to Carteret Place, when caller reported his unlocked vehicle had been entered with various items taken from within. Police sent out a C-3 alert advising residents to be mindful about locking vehicles.
