According to a municipal advisory, public works employees will collect trees by the curbside in residents’ assigned zones (leaf/brush zone).

“Please put your real Christmas trees at the curb with no plastic wrap, lights/ornaments or stands, for the safety of the workers,” town officials said. “Do not put trees out if it’s not your scheduled pickup.”

NUTLEY

In Nutley, the township will be collecting unwanted Christmas trees every Wednesday throughout the month of January.

According to a municipal advisory, the town’s Christmas tree collection in January will be an exemption to its general vegetative waste pick up for the 2023 season, which ended on Dec. 27 and will resume in April 2024.

“Please note that vegetative waste will not be picked up if it is put out with regular garbage during the time period of January through early April 2024,” the township stated.
