School 3 Tricky Tray Held Last Night

Fifth Annual Fundraiser Provides Money for Supplemental Programs at School

Volunteers in referee’s stripes circulated among dozens of people last night who attended the “March Madness” Tricky Tray fundraiser, held at the San Carlo in Lyndhurst.

Parents from the school’s HSA, as well as all the school’s staff and administration, attended the event, which raises funds for educational programs like art classes and activities at School 3. The tricky tray -- where donated prizes are raffled off -- is one of the school’s largest fundraisers.

Also in attendance were members of the HSAs and PTAs from other schools, who all support each other’s fundraising efforts. William Freda, the board of education president, board vice-president Peter Zangari and trustee Joe Longo also went to the fundraiser.

Dozens of groups and local businesses donated prizes, including: Edible Arrangements, Jim Dandy, Floyd Hall Arena, Popcorn Park Zoo, Nutley Shop Rite, NJ Naval Museum, Algieri’s Pizzeria, PathMark, Franklin Steakhouse, Old Navy, Jenkinson’s Breakwater Beach Casino Pier, Fun Services, Surf Light Theater Inc., Wild West City, Retro Fitness, Ritacco Bros., Uncle Jerry’s Tees, Michael’s Roscommon House, The Chandelier, Petit Cafe, Forest Hill Car Wash, Luigi’s Italian Tradition restaurant, Bell Paese, Plaza Card and Gift Shop, Linda Nails, National Sportswear, Sunrise Bagel, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Li’l Burgers, A Touch of Beauty, The Game, the Miami Dolphins, the New York Giants, the New Jersey Devils, Atlantic Uniform, Nanina’s in the Park and Mama Vittoria.
